Everyone knows there is a problem with editors who are not commited enough to continue to edit on a certain wiki so move elsewhere.
What are Commited Editors?[]
We are trying to solve this problem by starting a scheme called Committed Editors. This is designed to keep the editors on a wiki for as long as possible by working with them to keep them happpy and ensure they stick around for the long haul.
Making them stick around[]
It is hard to try to gain someones trust and keep them on the wiki for long periods of time but it can be done. You just need to make sure that the person has passion for the subject your wiki is on. So how do you ensure someone carrys on editing for a period of months or years?
We can do this by:
- Becoming friends with the editors and being polite to them.
- Letting the editors work on areas that they want to, to help give them a feeling of accomplishment.
- Promoting them to Chat Moderator status if they have made significant contribution over a long period of time.
